A beautiful smile has been proven time and time again to be an integral part of self-esteem. Your smile is also one of the first things that people notice about you. While creating a picture-perfect smile can involve many aspects, one huge factor is creating a mouth full of straight teeth. Traditionally, this was accomplished only through braces. Today, there is another solution – Invisalign®.
Invisalign® is an alternative to braces that allows you to straighten your teeth without the difficulties associated with wires and brackets. Consequently, Invisalign® has transformed into one of the most popular treatments in the dental industry.
Over 12 million people choose Invisalign® clear aligners to straighten their teeth. Some of their many benefits include…
While they aren’t actually invisible as the clear aligners sit over your teeth, they are virtually invisible to the naked eye – unlike traditional braces. No one has to know you are wearing them except you!
You can eat or drink virtually anything you want with Invisalign®. You simply remove your aligners before eating or drinking and replace them afterward. This too is a big improvement from the dietary restrictions that come along with braces and the sensitive hardware that can easily pop off when chewing something too hard or sticky.
You are not limited activity-wise in what you can do when using your Invisalign®. With braces, of course, you would have to make allowances to protect your mouth when playing sports.
Invisalign® is custom designed for you, fitting right over your natural teeth. While there is a gentle pressure that is applied via the aligners to force the teeth into shape, there are no brackets, wires, or bands, which can lead to pain, discomfort, and even bleeding.
Invisalign® is super easy to care for, requiring only to be removed when you brush and floss. Then, simply put the aligners back in place.
If you have struggled with uneven, crooked teeth, you’ll want to know more about how Invisalign® can help you obtain a brilliant, straight smile. To begin your journey…
The first step in your Invisalign® journey is a free consultation. During this complimentary visit, we will assess your current oral health, and determine if Invisalign® would be a good treatment for your individual situation.
If we find you a good candidate for Invisalign® treatment, your next step in the process is a personalized treatment plan. This is your roadmap towards a beautiful, straight smile. This will include taking detailed images and impressions of your teeth and determining the pathway you need to follow to get results. Your plan will also involve a detailed length of treatment along with an explanation of the results you can expect. Then, we will consider the timeline and financial arrangements necessary to get started.
The exciting part of the process begins when you get your new aligners, and we will explain how to properly wear them. Invisalign® clear aligners are made with BPA-free smooth plastic, purposefully designed for your teeth. This means your Invisalign® aligners will fit nicely and be comfortable when you are wearing them. You should aim to wear them for between 20 and 22 hours a day, remembering to remove them to eat, drink, or engage in an activity.
Each Invisalign® aligner will work to shift your teeth more into the proper position. You will get your next-step aligner every two weeks. These precision-crafted aligners are designed to move your teeth 1/10mm per tray. With each new aligner, you will see your teeth moving closer and closer to the designed destination. Our team at will check in on you throughout this process to ensure that your treatment is going as planned.
Once your Invisalign® treatment is complete, you’ll be able to enjoy your new beautifully straight smile. Some patients do require a follow-up retainer to keep teeth in place and everything aligned.
Achieving a straight smile through Invisalign® clear aligners will not only boost your confidence, it will improve your overall health for the better. Straight teeth are less prone to chipping and decay as they're easier to clean, so you’ll be less likely to develop gum disease and gingivitis.
